Old Man River, he just keeps rollin’ along….

Actually, the Tualatin River doesn’t roll along; it creeps along. From it’s headwaters in the foothills of the Coast Range to where it trickles into the Willamette River, there is very little drop, making for a sluggish, lazy flow. Some say the native Atfalatis named the
river, which means slow and sluggish.

  1. I was born in 1946, we lived in Portland . In the 50s dad and mom and my sister Sandy would go to Roamers rest a lot in the summer. In about 1956 We moved to Tualatin. Thr Tualatin was a big part of my growing up years. I graduated from Tigard Hi in 1965. I’m so glad the river is becoming popular.
