There’s plenty of fun to be had this fall at the Juanita Pohl Center, Tualatin’s Active Aging Center. The Pohl Center offers a variety of exciting day trips and lifelong learning programs for active adults. 

Join us for day trips, including birding at Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge, dinner at Amaterra Winery, a haunted Halloween-themed ride on the Mt Hood Railroad, the Global Roller Derby Championships, goat yoga and more! Try out one of our new educational programs, including Food for Life, a series of cooking classes focusing on plant-powered foods for health; Wellness Initiative for Senior Education, an evidence-based class full of information about healthy lifestyle choices and behaviors; Parenting the Love & Logic Way, where parents and grandparents can learn how to stay calm and set enforceable boundaries with the children in their lives; and much more! Pre-registration is required for all-day trips and lifelong learning programs.

The Pohl Center will highlight Fall Prevention Month in September. Learn about Building Strong Bones at a Nutrition Workshop and how to reduce the risk of falling at a Balance Workshop. Participants can also sign up for computerized balance testing! Pre-registration is required for all Fall Prevention Month programs.

Save the Date for the Veterans Recognition Breakfast!

Friday, November 8, at 9 a.m. Free for all veterans, $12 for non-veterans. Registration opens September 9. Veterans plus one guest will be given priority registration until September 30 by calling 503-691-3061.

Learn the basics of birding or practice your skills with an expert birding guide at this refuge bordering the Columbia River followed by lunch at local food carts. Fee includes birding hike, escort and transportation.

The Original Goat Yoga
