How can I protect myself from the current rash of car break-ins? What is going on with all of the road construction on Boones Ferry? How can I better prepare for a City-wide emergency or power outage? What are the housefire trends that our fire department is seeing? What progress has the City of Tualatin made on the Transportation Safety Program? What is the Tualatin City Council working on right now? How can I get more involved in my community?

If you have asked yourself any of these questions, read on for an easy way to find the answers. The Midwest Community Involvement Organization (CIO) will host its annual CIO meeting on Wednesday, October 25, at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Marquis, 19805 SW Boones Ferry Road. It’s a great opportunity to come together with neighbors, ask questions and get accurate, current information about your neighborhood and city.

We will have presentations by Tualatin Police, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, as well as presentations by City of Tualatin representatives on the City’s transportation plan and other updates. A Tualatin City Council member will be giving an update. We’ll also talk about Tualatin Neighborhood Ready – a program to help you and your neighbors prepare for a disaster. Finally, we’ll have nominations and elections for CIO officers.

Tualatin is divided into six residential CIOs located in separate geographical areas of Tualatin. Our CIO focuses on community safety, livability, and a sense of community. Our meetings support neighborhood awareness, community building and information sharing among neighbors. Midwest CIO is west of SW Boones Ferry Rd with irregular eastern, northern and southern borders. To better determine in which CIO you live, go to tinyurl.com/5n9xezm5. CIO meetings are essential to our neighborhoods and the future of Tualatin.
We look forward to seeing you on October 25 at 7:00 p.m.!
