How to take care of your skin during the winter

Winter weather typically dries out our skin. This leaves the need for exfoliation to move out dry, dead skin cells, which opens up the skin to absorb needed healing moisture. Below are our favorite exfoliation treatments:

Dermaplaning

Before and after.

One of our most requested exfoliation procedures is dermaplaning. It is where the skin is manually exfoliated using a surgical blade to remove dead skin buildup and fine hairs. It’s different from shaving because the intent is to improve the appearance of the skin as opposed to the removal of hair.

The process resurfaces the skin and increases absorption of products such as serums and moisturizers, assists in reducing breakouts, and helps makeup apply smoother and also last longer. It will not make hairs grow back thicker or darker and is safe with little risk as the blade is very small. After the procedure, your skin will look extremely bright, soft, and smooth.

Dermaplaning can also be combined with other treatments, such as a chemical peel or LED light therapy as well.

Chemical Peels

Peels are great ways to chemically remove the dead layer of skin and bring new cells forward. It can also help tighten skin, soften fine lines and wrinkles, help with pigmentation, acne, reduce pores, brighten skin, smooth texture, and reduce redness. We use preferred formulas that have little to no downtime, typically called no-peel peels, that are currently all the rage in Europe and can even be used on the body for acne and rough areas like the back of the arms.

One of our most requested exfoliation services that achieves bright, extremely smooth, and soft skin, as well as removes fine hairs on the face, and can be combined with other services such as chemical peels and LED light therapy.

Winter is also a time when we don’t spend as much time in the sun, and is a great opportunity to pursue treatments that require being careful about sun exposure.
