The Tualatin Lions Club was founded in 1973, and this year’s Lion Oktoberfest will celebrate their 50th Anniversary of providing service to the community and the world.
The Tualatin Lions Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Tualatin Valley Elks Lodge, 8350 SW Warm Springs St., Tualatin, with the doors opening at 5:00 p.m.
Dinners will be just $12 each again. Dinner will be locally sourced and include Zenner’s German Sausage, Willamette Valley sauerkraut, Hamburg-style fries and apple strudel for dessert. Beer, wine, cocktails and soft drinks will be available from the Elks Lodge bar. Dinners, prepared by the Tualatin Lions, will be served by members of the BSA Venture Crew and Scouts from Troop 530. Dinners are available for dine-in or take-out.
The Tualatin Lions will also offer local merchant raffle items, and tickets are only $1. The Lions will also have a crowd favorite, a “50/50” raffle for just $5 a ticket. There will be German Oktoberfest music, and the Lodge will be brightly decorated for Oktoberfest, which is scheduled just after German Unity Day (10/3/2023), so there’s ample travel time for any Germans celebrating Oktoberfest in Munich to get to Tualatin.
The Tualatin Lions will be busy in the kitchen, making sure the sausage and kraut are ready for everyone. Come celebrate autumn and the harvest the “old world way” with the Tualatin Lions Club.
All funds raised at the 2023 Tualatin Lions Club “50th Anniversary” Oktoberfest go to help our under-served neighbors receive help with sight and hearing-saving surgery or treatment, exams and eyeglasses or hearing aids, state-of-the-art vision screening for local students and exams and eyeglasses for those in need as well as support for local and regional food banks, the Tualatin Caring Closet, Scout Troop 530, Pack 35 and the Venture Scouts. “If there’s a need, there’s a Lion.” The Tualatin Lions Club is always looking for community members who want to volunteer and enjoy their fellowship.
