Beth Dittman, a longtime Tualatin community leader, small business owner, and mom, today announced her campaign for Tualatin City Council Position 5.
Running with the message “Showing Up for Tualatin,” Dittman is seeking to bring more than 15 years of community involvement, collaborative leadership, and local advocacy to the City Council.
“Tualatin is a community built by people who care,” said Dittman. “I’ve spent more than 15 years showing up alongside my neighbors: volunteering, listening, and working to turn good ideas into action. I’m running for City Council because I believe our best future is one we build together–and I want to keep showing up for Tualatin.”
Dittman’s community leadership includes serving as chair of the Tualatin Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, serving on city advisory committees and working groups – including the Urban Renewal Committee – and co-chairing the Political Action Committee that successfully passed Tualatin’s $25 million parks and trails bond. She was also named Tualatin’s Volunteer of the Year in 2022.
As a small business owner and life coach, Dittman’s professional work has focused on leadership development, collaboration, and helping people turn goals into action. She has also been deeply involved in local schools, nonprofit initiatives, and efforts to create more inclusive community spaces.
“I’ve seen firsthand what happens when neighbors, volunteers, community organizations, and local government work together,” Dittman said. “That kind of collaboration is what makes Tualatin special, and it’s the kind of leadership I want to bring to City Council.”
Dittman’s campaign is centered on five priorities:
- Inclusive Community Leadership – ensuring residents feel welcome, heard, and meaningfully engaged in decisions that affect their community.
- A Thriving Local Economy – supporting local businesses and creating opportunities for good jobs.
- Smart Growth & Housing Options – planning thoughtfully for Tualatin’s growth while addressing traffic, housing, and quality of life.
- Strong Parks & Natural Spaces – protecting and investing in Tualatin’s parks, trails, river access, and natural resources.
- Responsible Financial Stewardship – making thoughtful, long-term investments while maintaining essential services.
Dittman has lived in Tualatin since 2010 and is raising her family in the community.
“My goal is simple: to help ensure Tualatin remains a city where people feel connected and safe–a place we are proud to call home,” said Dittman.
The campaign invites Tualatin residents to get involved by volunteering, hosting a yard sign, attending campaign events, becoming a neighborhood leader, or contributing.
