There’s plenty of summer fun to be had with the Juanita Pohl Center, Tualatin’s Active Aging Center. The Pohl Center offers a variety of new and interesting day trips for active adults (21+) on weekdays and weekends throughout the year! From vineyard tours to whitewater rafting to the renaissance faire, there’s something for everyone this summer. Come explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest from the Oregon coast to Washington State and discover local treasures you never knew were right in your backyard! Day trips provide opportunities to meet new people, make friends, and share experiences while learning and exploring together. Upcoming day trips include: night fireworks and a game at the Hillsboro Hops, shopping and lunch at McMinnville’s summer farmers market, a gallery showcase at the Artist Repertory Theater and lunch at the Oregon Culinary Institute, brunch at healthy-and-trendy Aviv Israeli restaurant, pedal-powered rail riding on the Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad and more!

Looking for even more adventure? Check out our upcoming regional excursions, full-day trips to popular destinations outside a 100 mile radius of Tualatin. This year’s excursions include a private tour and tasting at the beautiful Mary Hill Winery in Goldendale, Washington (July 21) and an exhilarating full day of whitewater rafting on the majestic McKenzie River (August 4)! Both regional excursions include a picnic lunch.

If you’re interested in having fun and making friends in the great outdoors, join in with our Day Trekkers hiking group! This group ventures to the most scenic spots around the Pacific Northwest for physical activity and spectacular scenery. This summer’s hikes include: wetland park exploration at Smith & Bybee Lakes, Ecola State Park on the coast and Lost Lake with classic views of Mt. Hood.

Transportation and escort are always provided on all of our adult day trips and hikes so participants can sit back, relax and enjoy the fun and good company. Come out and make some new friends and new memories with the Juanita Pohl Center, “Where Active Adults Engage!” For more information about Adult Day Trips, Regional Excursions and Day Trekkers, please visit or call 503.691.3061.

“I like to go on day trips with the Juanita Pohl Center for the convenience of being driven to the location in a comfortable van, the interesting places I have visited (Oregon Humane Society, Culinary Institute, Seaside, Ilani Casino, Seattle, etc), stopping for lunch at good restaurants and not being concerned about the tab and tips because it was all included in the initial cost of the trip.”

“There are many reasons why I take advantage of the Pohl Center activity outings. First, the Center does all the planning, route mapping and provides very smooth, responsible door-to-door transportation. Day trips are always centered around well thought out exciting new adventures. Some of my trip have included an informative sake brewery and tasting tour, a free-hand acrylic painting lesson, several breathtaking local hiking trails. Come check out the center’s activity calendar as reserved spots fill up quickly. Who knows, maybe I’ll be seeing you at the next Pohl Center Outing!”

“I love going on the Day Trekkers. We go to places I’ve never been, see beautiful Oregon, get exercise, and meet new friends.”
