Intercambio Language Exchange

Wednesdays at 4:30 pm

Join us each Wednesday in the Library Community Room for an informal and relaxed gathering where you can practice language learning! Gain confidence by learning from others and meet new friends!

Makerspace Open Lab

Makerspace Open Labs are for anyone who wants to check out the space and use our equipment to make cool things. Room assistants are available to guide you in the basic use of the tools and technology. Come in with an idea and leave with a finished project! 

Makerspace Open Labs take place on the following weekly schedule:

  • Tuesdays 5:30 – 7:30 pm
  • Thursdays 4:00 – 6:00 pm
  • Saturdays 10:00 AM – 1:00 pm 
  • Sundays 1:30 – 5:30 pm

Each month we provide the materials, tools, and instructions for a featured Makerspace project that everyone is invited to try. January’s featured project is Woven Pouches! For more information about the Makerspace, please visit our website.

Teen Hang Out

Fridays, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Hang out at the library after hours with your friends and other teens! Play games (video or board), do crafts, watch a movie! No food or drinks provided. For students in grades 6-12. Held in the Teen Room.

LEGO Club

Saturdays, Jan. 11 and Feb. 8, 2:00 to 3:30 pm

Calling all LEGO™ fans! Click with brick expert Molly for exciting LEGO™ challenges. She provides the LEGOs™, you provide your imagination and ideas! For kids in grades K-5.

Spruce Up the Library

Saturday, January 18, 8:00 to 10:00 am

Spruce Up the Library events are ideal for families, groups, or individuals who want to volunteer together in the library. We gather each month to dust shelves, organize collections, and socialize with other library fans. All ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration can be done on our website.

Origami

Saturdays, Jan. 18 and Feb. 15, 12:00 to 3:00 pm

Make folded paper creations with the Portland Oregon Paper Shapers! Challenge yourself with a complex origami masterpiece, or keep it simple while learning the basics. For all ages. Held in the Community Room.

Taphouse Trivia

Tuesdays, Jan. 28 and Feb. 25, 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Join Librarian Doug at Stickmen Brewing (19475 SW 118th Ave STE 1, Tualatin, OR 97062) for several rounds of trivia! Enjoy fabulous drinks and pizza, as well as prizes for the winners!

Goodwill Job Connection Fair

Wednesday, January 29, 1:00 to 3:00 pm

Connect with local employers who may be offering the perfect role for your next career move. Goodwill Job Connection will have information about their helpful services for job seekers. For adults. Held in the Community Room.

Teen End of Semester Celebration

Friday, January 31, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Kick back and celebrate the end of the semester with friends, food, and fun at the library! All teens are welcome! Come blow off some steam, relax, and make some memories. This is your time to celebrate – don’t miss it!

Teen Unlucky in Love

Sunday, February 9, 2:00 – 3:30 PM

Are you spending Valentine’s Day alone this year? Single or taken, we invite you to join us to play lively games, have some snacks, and enjoy fun! For students in grades 6-12. Registration is recommended but not required, and can be done on our website.

Teen Makerspace

Hey teens! Ready to unleash your creativity and have some fun? Join us at the library for an exclusive Makerspace event just for you! For students in grades 6-12. Registration is recommended, and can be done on our website.

Mocktail Hour: Board Games

Thursday, February 20, 6:00 – 7:30 PM

Join us for a mocktail hour with librarian Doug! Materials to make your own mocktail and a fun and casual activity every third Thursday of the month. This month’s activity will be board games! For adults and teens 14+.
Registration is required, and can be done online.

Music at the Hearth: Vijay Gupta

As the founding artistic director of Street Symphony, Vijay is a nationally celebrated leader in how music can be a transformative force for humanity, connection and hope.

This performance at the Library Hearth is free and for all ages. Held in partnership with 45th Parallel Universe and sponsored by Friends of Tualatin Library
