Tualatin City Manager Sherilyn Lombos received the Herman Kehrli Award from the League of Oregon Cities on Oct. 16, recognizing her lasting impact on the community and local government statewide.
Lombos, who has served as Tualatin’s city manager for more than 20 years, accepted the award at the league’s 101st annual conference in Salem.
The award is named in honor of Herman Kehrli, who served as the LOC’s executive secretary and director of the University of Oregon’s former Bureau of Governmental Research and Service from 1933 to 1966. It honors city employees whose work has made a lasting difference in their communities and established standards of excellence for local officials.
Founded in 1925, the LOC is a voluntary association representing all 241 of Oregon’s incorporated cities. The organization supports municipal governments by providing legislative services, policy setting, training and technical assistance.
As the longest-serving city manager in Washington County, Lombos has guided Tualatin through evolving community needs and long-term planning. Her thoughtful approach to balancing current requirements with future opportunities has helped position the city for sustained financial stability and growth.
Throughout her tenure, Lombos has built a reputation for taking the time to listen, considering the bigger picture and working collaboratively with regional partners to advocate for Tualatin. Her long-term leadership and mentorship are expected to continue influencing the next generation of Oregon’s public servants.
