Do you have a couple of hours to share with your community? The Friends of the Tualatin Library could use your help! We are a forward-thinking group of people who hope to move mountains, one shovelful at a time. We raise funds to support library programs by selling used books and other materials. You have probably seen our sale shelves in the library, just past the book return area. We restock these shelves daily, except Sunday, and
also sell materials online on Amazon.
It’s a big job to process all of the generous donations we receive from the community, and we can always use more help. We will show you the ropes, and help you find a job that fits your skills. Another opportunity to help us is to volunteer for our two big book sales, in May and November. Lots of hands are needed to set up, staff the sale, and then re-box and tear down when it’s over.
The Friends have a specialized volunteer position that they are trying to fill this fall. We are looking for a shipper to join the team that processes and ships Amazon.com orders for our organization. We provide all of the supplies needed for shipping and buy postage online, so there’s no standing in line when you drop the packages off at the post office. No experience is needed; we’ll provide the training, but being detail-oriented would be helpful. If you’re interested in learning more about this position, please email us at tualatinfol@gmail.com.
