Cascade Blues Association’s Muddy Awards winners to perform in Tigard

‘Best in Blues’ Ben Rice & the PDX Hustle, Norman Sylvestor Band and Kivett Bednar perform

It’s been said that blues music reflects life. That truth comes alive when three of the best blues acts perform their distinctive styles and show why they are Muddy Award winners. Ben Rice & the PDX Hustle, The Norman Sylvester Band, and Kivett Bednar perform 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on April 27 at SGD, 8900 SW Commercial St, Tigard. 

Long known for it’s love of blues music, Portland is the home of the the annual Muddy Awards, a Cascade Blues Association production that honors blues musicians, venues and events. 

“The blues scenes is alive and well, and we are fortunate to have so many top-notch musicians who perform around the nation and are based in the Portland-metro area,” said multi-award winning vocalist and Cascade Blues Association President Rae Gordon. “Music and lyrics really connect to people.”

The Muddy Awards Showcase is presented by Florian Raqueño Productions and Lighting in a Bottle Records, and sponsored by Beach Hut Deli and La Fuente.
