Run, walk, or roll – whatever your form of locomotion, join us for the 2023 Regatta Run!

On Sunday, October 22, family members and their four-legged friends will join up at Tualatin Community Park for this fun race, a fundraiser benefiting the youth of Tualatin. Presented by the Rotary Club of Tualatin in partnership with the City of Tualatin, the 5K trek will take you through scenic trails from Community Park to Cook Park and back. For extra fun, wear a costume and stay after the race for a unique trick-or-treating experience for youth.

All net proceeds from the Regatta Run will support Tualatin Rotary’s scholarship program, as well as other opportunities for school-aged youth in our community. Last year’s race raised more than $45,000 for these educational programs, and our goal for this year’s race is $60,000.

Scholarships to first-generation college students from Tualatin are the main program funded by the Run. To qualify, high school juniors must demonstrate family need, a record of service to the community, and potential for future success. Scholarship recipients receive $5,000 each academic year and are paired with a mentor from Rotary, who provides support and advice to the students to help keep them on a path to achievement. Rotary also awards one-time $1,000 scholarships through the program.

The Regatta Run was founded in memory of Marine Corporal Matthew Lembke, a 2005 graduate of Tualatin High School who lost his life while serving in Afghanistan. His sacrifice and service have inspired us to support youth and their future potential. More than $227,000 in scholarships were awarded in Matt’s name over the first decade of the event.

Register online at regattarun.com to participate in the race. Race start time is 9 a.m., with on-site registration opening at 7:30 a.m. Be sure to check out the vendor booths, featuring our race partners and other community organizations. Children under the age of 12 can participate for free, with a new kids’ fun run prior to the 5K.

Whether you are a serious runner, a casual walker, or someone who wants to support educational opportunities for Tualatin’s youth, the Regatta Run is a can’t-miss event! If you cannot attend but want to contribute, you can register as a non-participant or become a sponsoring partner. Your generosity will impact youth in our community for years to come.
