Makerspace Open Lab: Stamp Carving

Makerspace Open Labs are for anyone who wants to check out the space and use our equipment to make cool things. Room assistants are available to guide you in the basic use of the tools and technology. Come in with an idea and leave with a finished project!

Makerspace Open Labs take place on the following weekly schedule:

  • Tuesdays, 5:30 – 7:30PM
  • Thursdays, 4:00 – 6:00PM
  • Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 1:00PM 
  • Sundays, 1:30 – 5:30PM

Each month we provide the materials, tools, and instructions for a featured Makerspace project that everyone is invited to try. May’s featured project is Stamp Carving

LEGO Maniacs

Saturday, May 11, 2:00 to 3:30 pm

Calling all LEGO Maniacs! Click with brick expert Molly for exciting LEGO challenges. She provides the LEGOs, you provide your imagination and ideas! For kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. 

Community Helpers Storytime

Wednesdays – May 8, 14 & 22, 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Celebrate community helpers with Community Helper Storytimes! Each Wednesday in May will feature a different Community Helper: 

  • May 8: Library storytime with Tualatin Library staff
  • May 15: Police K-9 storytime with the Tualatin Police
  • May 22: Backhoe storytime with Tualatin Public Works

For children ages 0-6 years. Held in the Community Room.

Teen Nerf Battle

Friday, May 17, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. 

Ready to join in an epic Nerf battle at the public library? Join in the NERF fun as you run, dodge, dive, and take down the competition! Let the games begin! All equipment will be provided. Pizza and beverages for all.

Friends Semi-Annual Sale

Friday, May 17: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Saturday, May 18, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Calling all book lovers! Find your next treasure at the Friends of Tualatin Library’s semi-annual sale. Open Friday, 3:00-6:00 PM with a special members-only hour from 2:00-3:00PM, and open Saturday 10:00 AM – 4:00PM. Purchases support library programs. Held in the Community Room.

Origami

Saturday, May 18, 12:00 to 3:00 pm

Make folded paper creations with the Portland Oregon Paper Shapers! Challenge yourself with a complex origami masterpiece, or keep it simple while learning the basics. For all ages. Held in the Community Room.

Alphabet Party

Thursday, May 23, 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Celebrate the ABCs at this Alphabet Party! We’ll play alphabet games and make alphabet crafts … we’ll have an ABCDelightful time!

For children ages 3-6.. Held in the Community Room.

Music at the Hearth: Renegade Opera

Sunday, May 26, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Renegade Opera makes classical music’s most extravagant art form more approachable for everyone. Opera includes drama, emotions, and storytelling through song. Renegade brings pieces both new and beloved to highlight how this classical form can capture the imaginations for listeners of all ages. Held at the library hearth.

Taphouse Trivia

Tuesday, May 28, 6:00 pm

Join Librarian Doug at Stickmen Brewing (19475 SW 118th Ave STE 1, Tualatin, OR 97062) every final Tuesday of the month for several rounds of trivia! Enjoy fabulous drinks and pizza, as well as prizes for the winners!
