Every step and stride supports a scholar or youth program in Tualatin. Runners and walkers in The Regatta Run support the Tualatin Rotary Club’s mission to raise money for local youth. The 5K race takes place on the same day as the city’s West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta. This year, both events are on Sunday, October 18.

For 2026, we’ve created a new course! The harvest-themed run/walk winds through scenic paths in Tualatin, Tigard, and Durham. The race starts and finishes under the railroad trestle at Tualatin Community Park (8515 SW Tualatin Road). The updated route adds a loop through Cook Park and finishes with a straight-shot return through the forested trails of Durham. All participants will receive chip-timed results. Whether you are a competitive runner, casual walker, or pushing a stroller with family, all are welcome. Costumes are encouraged, and everyone is sure to have a festive time!

The 5K begins at 9:00 a.m., preceded by a free Kids’ Run at 8:45 a.m. for ages 4–12. Tons of inflatable costumed characters will be along the course to cheer on racers. Kids will receive trick-or-treat bags filled with candy, goodies, and trinkets, which they can also use to gather harvest stories from Books on Wheels and treasures from the Vendor Village.

The Regatta Run was established in honor of Corporal Matthew Lembke, a 2005 Tualatin High School graduate who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. A scholarship in Matthew’s name supports graduating seniors who exemplify Marine Corps values. Since the race began, more than 50 students have received college scholarships through the fund.

The event also funds Tualatin Rotary’s first-generation college scholarships, youth exchange programs, third-grade dictionaries, literacy initiatives, the Tualatin Food Pantry, Intercambio mentoring, the high school’s Crimsonaires choir, and more.

Register today at regattarun.com. Advance packet pick-up will take place at Road Runner Sports in Nyberg Woods on Thursday, October 15, from noon to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, October 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In-person registration will also be available during both sessions.

Sign up to experience the autumn splendor of our local trails, honor Matthew Lembke, support youth literacy and scholarships, and join a community coming together to do good and have fun!
