On Memorial Day this year, the community of Tualatin welcomed back the annual tradition of holding a Memorial Day Observance at the Winona Cemetery, followed by a community picnic at the Tualatin Community Park. In both 2020 and 2021, during the pandemic, Oregonians were not meeting in large groups, so there was no observance or picnic for the past two years. The sunshine came out this year, and for the 20th year, there was no rain during the observance.
Our entire community really came together to make this Memorial Day Observance and community picnic an important event, with help from so many groups:
- City of Tualatin
- Tualatin VFW Auxiliary
- Dalton’s Northwest Catering
- Cub Scout Pack 35
- Bryon Elementary and Cub Scout Pack 480
- Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue
- Tualatin Police
We look forward to honoring the memory of our fallen veterans again in 2023.
