Two Must-Attend Events for Families this Summer
Tualatin has long been a gem of the greater Portland metro area, and two signature community events are giving families even more reason to mark their calendars. The Blender Dash and ¡Viva Tualatin! each offer something unique — and together, they make for a summer packed with color, culture, and connection.
Get Messy at the Blender Dash

The annual Blender Dash is set for Saturday, June 6, running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tualatin Community Park. This is Tualatin’s craziest fun run for kids ages 5 to 15. It blends everyone’s favorite themed run elements — color powder, foam, mud, obstacles, and even zombies — into one unforgettable one-mile course.
What makes 2026 especially exciting is a new twist for families. Participants can now select color-coded start times — purple for the 10 a.m. group, green for 10:45 a.m. — a change designed to reduce congestion at the starting line and allow families with children of different ages to run together.
Beyond the run itself, a “Fun Zone” features vendor booths, free face painting, crafts, and a photo booth, with food from favorites like Bondi Bowls and PNW Kettle Corn. The color powder used is made from food-grade cornstarch — non-toxic, biodegradable, and 100% safe — and every runner receives sunglasses and a bandanna. Parents should just plan to pack an extra towel.

Celebrate Community at ¡Viva Tualatin!
On July 11 from 2 p.m.. to 8 p.m. ¡Viva Tualatin! arrives in Community Park as one of the city’s most anticipated events of the year — a free, family-friendly celebration of diversity and community spirit packed with live entertainment, cultural performances, and food vendors representing cuisines from around the world.
The festival honors Tualatin’s vibrant Latino, Pacific Islander, and Asian communities, making it a wonderful opportunity for families to experience and appreciate the city’s rich cultural fabric. Activities include a water slide, mechanical bull, giant coloring mural, foam frenzy, face painting, and live performances ranging from la charrería horsemanship to Aztec dance.
Best of all, admission is free and open to the public, lowering the barrier for families of all backgrounds to participate. For more info, visit www.tualatinoregon.gov/vivatualatin.
These two events reflect the heart of what makes Tualatin special. Whether your kids are sprinting through a foam-filled obstacle course in June or dancing to live music under the summer sky in July, both events create the kind of shared memories that keep families coming back year after year.
