Tualatin Elementary’s next Principal named

Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lisa McCall announced Dr. Bobbie Brown as the new principal at Tualatin Elementary beginning July 1, 2023. Brown assumes the position replacing Principal Jim Hiller, who announced he will step down at the end of this school year.

“Bobbie is an exceptional leader and we are excited to have her join the Tualatin Elementary community,” said Dr. McCall. “She is a respected relationship builder and has a deep understanding of the importance of working in partnership with staff and families to achieve student success. Bobbie is a data-driven decision maker and brings an unwavering commitment to equitable outcomes for all students.”

Bobbie has been with TTSD for 13 years. She has served as a School Psychologist, Positive Behavior Interventions Systems (PBIS) Tier 3 Facilitator, and Dean of Students, and is currently the Associate Principal at Bridgeport Elementary. Prior to her career in education, Bobbie served in the Peace Corps in West Africa, volunteering for a program called “Girls’ Empowerment and Education.” 

“I am honored to be given this opportunity,” said Dr. Brown. “My experiences up to this moment have fueled my passion to pursue educational leadership. I look forward to joining the Tualatin Elementary staff and am excited to get to work on behalf of our students and families.”

Dr. Brown earned her BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her Masters of Arts in Educational Psychology from California State University where she also received her Certification as a School Psychologist and earned her California School Psychologist License. Dr. Brown received her Doctor of Education and Principal Licensure from the University of Portland.
