Tualatin’s 6th Grade Girls brought home a state basketball championship in February, defeating Beaverton’s Mountainside in the final game of the Oregon Mid-High Madness State Championship.
The team climbed through the brackets from a 5th seed starting position, knocking out Sherwood, Salem, Canby, and Silverton on their path to an intense 36-19 victory against Beaverton.
Tualatin shut down Mountainside’s offense, holding Mountainside to just 2 points in the final half of the game.
The Mid-High Madness tournament is designed to let school-based teams compete with others across the state. Teams play through local tournaments to win a berth in the end-of-season state playoffs in Salem.
