Inspector Snuggles

Recently, we snapped some photos of a curious cat wandering through the construction site of our Reservoir Project. We added a safety hat, named him Inspector Snuggles, and shared his important inspection work on social media. The post took off, charming people from all over the world and racking up more than 555,000 views, 110,000 likes, and 37,700 shares.

The best part? Inspector Snuggles’ owners saw our post and recognized their wandering feline, Rocky. After safely collecting him, they shared some photos of the Inspector relaxing at home, enjoying his retirement.  While not every City post goes viral (and, for better or for worse, most don’t involve cats), it’s a fun reminder that the City’s social media accounts are informative, useful, and will often make you smile.

There’s a lot happening around Tualatin that we want everyone who lives, works, and plays here to know about. From daily social media to monthly newsletters, there are lots of ways to stay connected. Choose the ones that work best for you:

Want regular updates? We’ve got two options for regular emails.

  1. Subscribe to one of our monthly newsletters. Choose from the city-wide newsletter Tualatin Today, Explore Tualatin Now from Parks & Recreation, and the always fun-filled newsletter from the Library. To subscribe, visit our website at www.tualatin.gov/subscribe-to-city-news.
  2. Sign up for project-specific updates. Often (but not always) about construction, project updates help keep you in the loop about longer-term work happening around town. Current update options include the Tualatin Community Park playground renovation, the Riverfront Park and Downtown Revitalization projects, the 108th reservoir and pump station, and the Martinazzi Avenue sewer upsizing. To subscribe, visit the City’s website (www.tualatin.gov/cityprojects) and choose the ones you’d like to receive.

Want to see what’s happening right now? Follow the City on social media.

We share project updates, upcoming events, community information, helpful reminders, and yes, the occasional cat. Find us on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, X, and LinkedIn at @CityofTualatin. You can also follow the Tualatin Library (Facebook) and the Tualatin Police Department (Facebook, Instagram, and X).

Want to have a say? Staying connected isn’t just about receiving information.

We want to hear from you, too. Subscribing to updates and following our social media will let you know when and how to share feedback on projects like Riverfront Park and Downtown Revitalization, where community input will help shape what comes next.

Want to get in touch with us? The City’s Contact Us webpage is a good place to start.

Whether you have a question, an idea, a compliment, or simply aren’t sure who to contact, send it our way. We’ll get it routed and get you a response. Go to www.tualatin.gov/submit-a-request to let us know what’s on your mind.

Connecting with the City can mean following a major project, weighing in on the future of Tualatin, or occasionally helping a wandering cat find his way home. Inspector Snuggles isn’t exactly our everyday content, but his story is a good reminder that communication works both ways. Your questions, ideas, and feedback help us understand what matters to the people we serve and keep Tualatin an informed and engaged community. We’ll continue sharing what’s happening around town and invite you to keep the conversation going.
