The Tualatin Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to the businesses who have trusted us to work on their behalf. We advocate for business in government affairs that may cause challenges for commerce. We promote our businesses and look for ways to give them more exposure in the local community. We build educational opportunities for learning new best practices in business. And we create networking opportunities where we can help our businesses connect with their best client or customer.

Supporting our Tualatin businesses requires an enormous amount of work. To accomplish this, we depend on our volunteer committees, who do amazing work every week, but more than that, we rely on those we contract with or hire as an employee of the organization.

By now, you should be familiar with Daniel Lacy, our Editor in Chief and Podcast Host for www.oregontollingupdates.com. If you haven’t subscribed, please do. You are missing excellent information about the tolling issue that might give you a fighting chance to have a voice about how ODOT intends to put this plan into your lives. For questions or comments about tolling, write daniel@tualatinchamber.com.

In June, the Chamber hired Amanda O’Brien as the new administrative assistant. Amanda comes to us from Grants Pass and has many years of experience as an administrative assistant. She also has a certificate in digital marketing. From Amanda’s first day, we were busy with the plans for the “Tualatin Golf Classic,” Chamber’s Golf Tournament that happened July 10, and she jumped right in and never missed a beat. She is already becoming a strong and steady part of the operations. Amanda is here to help our businesses with any questions or concerns. Just email her at amanda@tualatinchamber.com.

In June, we also contracted with Business Development Specialist Will Burton. Will is focused on making sure our current members are satisfied and encouraging businesses who are not members to try us out and become members. Will is dedicated and has delivered a detailed report to me and our Board of Directors on the current state of the Tualatin Chamber membership and how he intends to grow the membership this year. Will often works with the Ambassador Committee, and you can often see him at the Networking meetings. For questions about membership, write will@tualatinchamber.com.

Please welcome our new team! They bring energy to the Chamber, so we can better serve our members!
